ACCOMODATIONS
Lake Como is quite large and can be difficult to navigate. Therefore, we highly recommend that you stay in Cernobbio or Como. Como is the largest town / is very close to Cernobbio, and the wedding venue (Villa Pizzo) is located in Cernobbio.
Also, make sure your accommodation is near transportation. See section below titled How to get around Lake Como for more information on transportation. Please note that we will arrange transportation from select locations in Cernobbio and Como for scheduled wedding activities.

TRAIN
Alternatively, you can take the train from Milan to Como (~40 minutes). From Milan Centrale Station, take the Trenord Train to Como S. Giovanni Station. Then transfer to a bus or ferry to your final destination in Lake Como. This option is more time-consuming but is significantly cheaper. Rome2Rio is a great tool to find your transportation route using train, bus, ferry, etc.

If you are going to Como from Malpensa Airport, you can take the Malpensa Express from Malpensa Airport (both terminals) to Milan Centrale Station. Then, follow steps above.

This option is only recommended for savvy travelers and is not recommended for those with small children or with a lot of luggage.
RENTAL CAR
Another option is to rent a car at Malpensa Airport and drive to Lake Como. This would give you more flexibility to explore the area on your own schedule, but you would need to be comfortable driving in Italy and navigating unfamiliar (steep, small, and curvy) roads.

Please note that you do not need a car in Lake Como. Public and private transportation are efficient. Also, parking around the lake is in short supply. Thus, make sure to contact your accommodations for parking rates.
